Cut #21 Chickenface

I wanted to do something less 'real' and more playful. It began as a personal sketch, then was cut in black and blue and mounted on yellow cardstock.

Cut #20 Monarch Butterfly

After the previous cut, I wanted something less Photoshop-intensive. This one took about six hours from photo to final cut. It's also a three-colour design.

The top layer is black, mounted over orange and white backgrounds. The orange is glued to the white, and the black is then glued on top. You can see all three layers in the window photo.

Cut #19 - Downtown Cumulus

This is my first three-colour cut. It began with a photograph I took of the downtown skyline under cumulus clouds. The full process—from photo to final cut—took about ten hours.

Outlining the clouds in Photoshop took a while, so I like to say my head was in the clouds.

The clouds were cut from red cardstock. The city skyline was cut from black, with plain white cardstock used for the background.
