Cut #24 Sereena Abotsway DTES Missing Woman

This piece is based on an image from missingpeople.net. I chose the first portrait—of Sereena Abotsway—originally drawn by Everyone Deserves a Name, a project dedicated to honoring missing and murdered individuals.

The cut is rendered in black and mounted on translucent yellow. When lit from behind with a candle, it becomes a soft, reflective memorial.

Magic Shutter

I’ve been playing around with MagicShutter for the iPhone. All shooting and edits were done in-camera. The three-image collage was assembled in Photoshop.

Long Exposure Workshop

I recently took a long exposure workshop at Photohaus Gallery, taught by Marc Koegel. It was a great opportunity to explore photography at a slower, more meditative pace.

These images were taken at Whytecliff Park in North Vancouver and Pebble Beach in Delta.
