Reading Frank Ogden’s (aka Dr. Tomorrow) take on the “Future”—which is now the present, and in some ways the past—is fascinating. It’s remarkable how far science, technology, and art have advanced in just the last twenty years.
We’re living in a time of rapid change. As Ogden put it, “Adapt or become part of the road.”
Learning is now a constant activity. Sitting in a classroom is a thing of the past. Permanent jobs are becoming relics of another age. Someone, somewhere else, can—and will—do it faster and cheaper than you.
Thus we need the connection economy to survive and indeed thrive. In the connection economy, one needs to stand out. In order to stand out, one must create something that is meaningful to someone. Seth Godin describes this well in his book The Icarus Deception.
